Okay I’m going to take a stand. Right Now.
I refuse to listen to Christmas carols, put up decorations, or even think about anything to do with the holiday until AFTER or THE DAY OF Thanksgiving.

I work in the retail trade and it’s hard enough to try to keep the Christmas spirit alive especially since some people are just so damn crotchety and evil when you don’t have what they want.

Its not that I’m a Scrooge or anything, I ADORE Christmas. I have like 60 Christmas CD’s

What? I like Christmas music…
But I believe there’s a time and place for everything. Two weeks before Thanksgiving is NOT the time and place for it. I don’t like to go into Wal-Mart and see the Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations all in one isle. Nor do I like to go to Marshalls and see that they already have their Christmas wreath’s and Santa statues. And I absolutely abhor that Macy’s turns their housewares department into Santa’s wonderland at the beginning of November. This is why people are so pissy because they’re having it shoved down their throats two frickin’ months early.

Give Thanksgiving a fighting chance man!
In all seriousness though, isn’t it a bit presumptuous and ungrateful to start celebrating before we give thanks?

I know, I didn’t think of it that way until I was told either. That’s really what the whole issue is, its about showing thanks for what you have, then celebrating. That my dear friends is why, as much as I adore her, I refuse to listen to Barbra Streisand’s Christmas CD.

At least not until Friday, don’t worry Babs darling I will always love you.
